Great week of Fishing Charters in Key West

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010
The word about no oil in Key West is finally getting out and let me say there is not any oil in Key West. Charters are starting to run steady again and the fishing has been very good. The Dolphin bite has been tough as it can be in late July , so we fish the reef and wrecks and rocks that make Key West the great fishing spot that it is.We have been catching limits of Snapper and nice grouper . Usually after a limit of Yellowtails we do a little rodeo fishing with the Amberjacks on the wrecks  just off the reef. An AJ will sure test your skills and strength. ajrub This is how you want Yellowtails lottayt And for Grouper it is a shame this 60 pounder is on the protected list ggrouper-mouth With the help of the deep troll and a little venting this guy swims again, minus the 6 hooks we took out of him ggdhook

Key West Fishing – Swordfish

Monday, July 19th, 2010
Fishing for Swordfish has become big in Key West. Mostly done at night, catching swordfish is best when the waters are calm. Fishing charters run out about 18 miles offshore Key West, drifting along the wall where the ocean depth drops to over 1, 000 feet. The best type of lure used to catch swordfish is live bait attached to special fishing rigs with light sticks. Some fishermen use special lighting in the water to attract swordfish to the surface. The best time to fish is when there is a full moon. These fish are amazing and come all the way to the surface to eat. And when they eat… hold on. These fish are so powerful it is difficult to describe. Experience night time fishing aboard the Sea-Clusion. Kingfish – Key West Fishing

Sunday, July 11th, 2010
A wonderful sportfish, the Kingfish or also known as King Mackerel, frequents the waters of Key West during the winter. They return to the Texas coast in mid April, where there are warmer waters. Kingfish easily take various live and dead baitfish, spoons, jigs and other artificial lures. They are known for taking off and giving you a blistering run. It’s an unforgettable experience! The Kingfish is part of the Mackerel family. They are absolutely delicious when smoked and provide all the “best” smoke fish dips in restaurants and around Key West.
