Only Two Weeks of Grouper Fishing left till May in Key West

Sunday, December 19th, 2010

All grouper fishing around Key West will be closed from January 1 till April 30.  Charters are booking fast for the last two weeks of December, and the grouper bite has been exceptional. We have been catching them on deep plugs, trolling deep , Live bait on heavy "digger" rigs and even as bycatch while drifting live ballyhoo for sailfish on top of the reef. So if you love Grouper book your charter fast 'cause it is going to be a long time till you get 'em fresh again. Key West Grouper Dec 2010

Great week of Fishing Charters in Key West

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010
The word about no oil in Key West is finally getting out and let me say there is not any oil in Key West. Charters are starting to run steady again and the fishing has been very good. The Dolphin bite has been tough as it can be in late July , so we fish the reef and wrecks and rocks that make Key West the great fishing spot that it is.We have been catching limits of Snapper and nice grouper . Usually after a limit of Yellowtails we do a little rodeo fishing with the Amberjacks on the wrecks  just off the reef. An AJ will sure test your skills and strength. ajrub This is how you want Yellowtails lottayt And for Grouper it is a shame this 60 pounder is on the protected list ggrouper-mouth With the help of the deep troll and a little venting this guy swims again, minus the 6 hooks we took out of him ggdhook

Key West Fishing Report 6-1-2010

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010
Long week of charters with the Gulfstream 50 miles offshore. Not much in the way of Dolphin fishing, with a few lucky catches.Mutton spawn really saved the day with outstanding catches of both Mutton Snapper and Yellowtail Snapper that are mixed in.Some deep dropping for Snowy grouper and Rudderfish made the week. Hopefully the Gulfstream moves back in and brings the Dolphin and Wahoo closer to shore.
