October Fishing in Key West

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009

Nicest day you could ask for. The wind was light,  the sun is getting tolerable and  the fish must be feeding at night on the full moon. Beautiful debris ,  clumps and lines of Sargasso weed gave up only four small Dolphin. After it finally sunk in that we weren’t  going to limit out on Dolphin today we went to Plan B. Out came the deep drop rigs and up came Snowy groupers to 25 lbs and Tile fish.  With the box showing a  much more respectable catch we trolled in catching small bonitos that will make excellent bait tomorrow.

Team Fiji Scores in Key West

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

In continuing coverage of The Key West International Fishing Tournament , Team Fiji scored big with extra points awarded for rough seas . Starting with a fat Grouper and then out to the Blue Water for non stop Dolphin Action on a really nice weed line. The only problem was the 10 foot holes in the water about every 100 yards. Hats off to you gentlemen most would cry uncle.

Fred’s Key West Grouper Diploma

Friday, August 8th, 2008

We started early in the morning with things like we ain’t Bass fishing and the reel is still upside down, BUT when the big rod bent over it all paid off with this nice Black Grouper. The Yellow tail Snapper and several sharks made for a good day. Those poor Bass won’t have a chance now.
